Default Re: bought a bunch of goodies this morning....

A few years ago a friend was clearing out an old chicken house that the owner had filled with A mechanical parts. He had started saving them in the late 40's,and just piled up the stuff. No sheet metal, just chassis parts. We never really understood his intent.I ran into my friend with a trailerload of parts on his way to the scrapyard. When he lets the clutch out he pretty much knows how much weight he has on board. He said if I wanted the load I could have it for $1500.I had to NOT look at the load,he was being pretty generous,as the dozen or so loads all scaled for $17-$1900 each.Interestingly enough, while there were a couple hundred wheels, there were no tires. He heated a woodworking shop with wood, and would burn tire chunks in it at night. Then back to the wood during the day.
