I've used a professional appraiser twice The first time, I had to read between the lines. Things weren't sounding quite right so I rang him. HIs first words after I identified myself were "I'm glad you rang." Turns out he was a bit shy about a poor report on the car - maybe legal reasons for canning someone's car, I don't know but when we spoke, he advised against buying it. Second time, all was good but the report was more suited to a modern car. Some of the things on the list were simply irrelevant to a Model A.
I have bought 2 cars out of the US and both ties, I found someone through the local club who knew the car and seller so I got the full picture. I am pleased with both cars.
