Even for free, the holes may be worn out and might only be good for the scrap bin. Then add onto that, if they have bonded lining, cost/work jumps quite a bit to remove lining. The last time I checked about 3-4 years ago, it was ballpark 17.00 per shoe, not set, to remove the bonded lining.
