Are you sure it is glycerine? Have you checked with the restorer or did you do then yourself and know for sure? I used to rebuild shocks and never used glycerine ; always petro based. Usually jack oil. If the were a little lacking pressure I stepped up viscosity
If they aren’t leaking now, taking them apart will put that blessing in jeopardy!
