I would recommend that you set it up just like the factory. This would include the cable pull assembly, dash relay, and kick down. The transmission should come with the governor switch and the operating solenoid but if not, you will need those too. The drive shaft should work as is. New electrical harnesses are available too.

The factory set up will insure all the reverse lock out, kick down, and on speed functions will be automatic. All you have to do is follow the operating instructions in the owner's manual. They work really well this way. They rear axle likes about a 4.10:1 ratio but it will still work with a taller gear as long as it isn't too tall. If yours had a standard transmission before, it should have a 3.73:1 ratio which will work. It will get up to higher speeds with lower rpms that way.
