I usually drive about 1000 miles a month...I have a stock engine and a full flow filter and I try to change the oil every 1000 miles with synthetic 10-30. You can buy the 5 quart synthetic Mobile 1 for under $25 most of the time. Oil is cheap...changing engines isn't.
