It's an early version, for sure, but not the earliest. The earliest was with steady rods that attached to the front of the cross member and not to the back of the cross member such as with your cross member. There was no larger center hole and the holes for the attachment bolts were oriented vertically, not horizontally as shown in the photo below. Further there were no 'legs' on the cross member forming the letter K, just the center cross member itself.


With your cross member you cannot attach steady rods directly without adding the inner mounting holes with any flathead V8 except the initial '32 version, the so-called flange block, where like with a four-cylinder engine, separate brackets were bolted to the sides of the bell housing for the steady rods. Those are the large ones in your photo. My second photo shows the early bracket attached to a flange block (there are no legs on the center cross member of the car in the photo). The smaller set of brackets in your photo were the second version used with flange block V8s with the inner pairs of holes in the center cross member for the rods.
