Have not personally done it on a gas tank. Perhaps others have.


Also Thermocure, Rust911. There are probably others. These 3 are safe for metals/seals. Pretty much dissolves the rust into the liquid, no flakes. Would mix with distilled water like doing a cooling system as full as possible and let it sit for a week, then thoroughly drain and flush till drains clean.


Best done with fuel shutoff off the tank, in case something gets dislodged, could wreck the fuel shutoff.


If me, would immediately add/fill with Gas with Marvel Mystery Oil or 2 cycle oil to keep tank from flashover rusting.
