Step one please remove the rubber hose!!
I had the same problem with my tank. I cleaned the area and cleaned the area again. Then I applied JBweld for gas,been leak free for 2 years. I do check it regularly if the leak returns I will remove the tank and have it Professionally repaired !! You never should have gas leaking.
