I replaced my wire harnesses about 5 yrs ago on my '35 & changed out the switch body. There are a few Barn threads with some tips. As I said if u buy a new one they're not made as well as the original & you might need to tweak it a bit. Might be worth removing u'r original check for wear & if not too bad clean up paint silver & reuse ( bit of a pain as harness runs through it) with new harness.
