During the Model A/AA years of 1928-1931 (and 1932 post production), Ford of Canada had a varitety of countries for which they had sent, EXPORT, their production vehicles.

Siam was one of those countries.

The photo of the vehicle appears to be a Commercial Chassis with a body built by an Independent Body Building company. Just who that was is unknown.

On the 1928 and 1929 documents titled "Shipments to Overseas Branches and Indent Dealers" (Canada's documents for Export vehicles) in 1928, Siam received 38 Commercial "A" Chassis and in 1929 they received 8 Commercial "A" Chassis to build any type of body that they wanted. It is unknown just where the body that was assembled to this Commercial "A" Chassis came from...Was it Canada? Was it Australia? Who knows but it looks to be a unique body for the small quarter windows behind the two front doors.

In Part 1, about the Model A passenger vehicle production, the chapter (Chapter 5) on Canada's production was only 2 pages. I have revised this chapter and it will be included in Part 2 about the Commercial vehicle production.

It is a more precise survey of the "Canadian proper" production of Model A passenger vehicles.

For instance, the 1928 Phaeton. Canada produced 13849 35-A Phaetons, according to the 1928 Assembly Record Type Documents. However Canada EXPORTED 9968 of it's own production Phaeton's. This then, and I think I am close on this, that only 3881 Phaetons remained in Canada for it's 1928 production...the rest were Exported to various other countries. Siam for instance were sent 26 in 1928.
