I had a ex manifold that was cut too much, I took washers and cut them in 1/2 to use as spacers under the thick washer ---I don't believe in cutting both together ---i only tighten the 2 bolts enough to compress the lockwasher after the manifold to block nuts are tightened ====the last manifold had a lot of space, thhe car loked real hot weather better that way
