A '56 T-Bird sensor should be the same as any other '56 y-block temp sensor, but
they are a 'one-year-only' part and matched to a '56 (only) gauge.
'56 was the first year of 12 volt, the internals are not the same as earlier(6v), or later.
The '57 gauges & sensors were improved to a slightly different system using a voltage regulator and the sensors are a smaller size.
