For example Co. A is a wholesaler and also sells retail. Co B can buy 20 of an item from Co A, Co C can only buy and stock 10, Co B can offer a better price then C because they get the per piece at a lower cost.
Generally all prices are in the same ballpark on the retail level including Co A because they don't want to under price too much, they need their wholesale buyers (other retailers) to keep the parts producers in business by Co A buying in volume from them and then supplying the parts to the trade at a discount and still make money in the process.
