Oh yes. Since it would appear you may be pulling the rear end, first thing I would do is pull the floor and the tranny top to be sure that you didn't break a shifter fork and lock up at the trans. Second, if all is well there, replace the tranny top and unbolt the clam shell, remove the brake rods, Ubolt nuts and speedo turtle and pull the rear end down and back and remove it.

The rest will depend on what you find after draining the oil and disassembling the rear end.
