It depends on where the slack is caused. If it is in the axle end, replacing or tightening the lock pins should fix it. If it is in the spindle, it is likely the bushings were improperly reamed. When the bushings are replaced in the spindle, the inside diameter of the bushing is reduced, making inserting the king pin difficult or impossible. They need to be sized to allow a hard hand push. We use our piston pin machine to size them, as a hand reamer often removes too much material. We advise all king[pin bushing to be sized by a machine shop.
