"51MERC-CT", I think you're right. I've found a factory diagram and appears the Ford sending unit IS mounted horizontally. I appear to have all the same parts that are shown in your diagram, but they just look lkie they won't fit. I'll pull it apart tomorrow and see where I am. Thanks for the diagram.
I am kinda amazed that the Ford and Merc pressure sender set ups are so different. I wonder why this was?
