"Anybody remember the "patriotic" scrap metal drives during WWII?? Lucky any of the "old tin" escaped." With the last car produced to be sold to the public in Feb 1942, and no production of civilian cars for about 4 years, a '29-31 Model A was a treasure.. and not that old. I remember back in the late 50s they were selling for $15-25 in running condition. One of the kids in my neighborhood bought one for $5.00 running but in rough shape and proceeded to take it completely apart to see how it worked, never got it back together again. Oh to go back to those days with some extra money in my pocket.....
