Intro- Overkill-F1 and Rosie
It's about time I introduced myself and my project.
Overkill-F1 is my nickname and my real name is Terry.
My project: '52 Ford F-1, Canadian built pickup, 8RT-C1BA 239 flathead, 3 speed light duty trani.
Rosie's first owner purchased her in Penticton, BC for use on his orchard in Oliver.
A nephew of the first owner purchased her in '75. He sent her to a high school shop class and they did a ring and valve job on her. She got a new coat of paint in ' 79. After a long period of storage, the owner started her engine and shut it off right away because he didn't see any oil pressure.
I became Rosie's third owner in '96. I took her apart right away, everything came off the frame. The body was in really good shape, but most of the mechanical needed a bit of attention. I trying to do everything myself except the engine rebore and resurfacing the heads. She going back together as close to original as possible.
I'm not sure what happened, but I got busy with other projects, family matters, etc. The restoration got put on the back burner.
I'm retired now and working on her again, and I don't want to stop again.
The only photos of her when I got her aren't that good, but I'll attach them here anyway.
The seat vinyl covering is original and has one small crease (the top layer is cracked, but the fabric underneath isn't even torn) as seen in the cab photo.
The frame has been patiently waiting for me to get back to work on it.
