Default Re: 34 flywheel pilot bearing

There are many variations available of this basic bearing. I would suggest finding one that has high temp grease, and is sealed on both sides. The seals are usually made of a soft rubbery plastic material, that is sometimes reinforced with sheet metal. The versions with plain sheet metal covers, aka "shields", are not dust sealed, and you really need a sealed pilot bearing rather than one that just has the shields. Originally, Ford used pilot bearings that were open face or shielded, and these bearings usually failed from loss of grease and dust/dirt contamination.
