Mount it high on the firewall just to the left of the steering column. If your firewall insulator is bad I would say replace it before you wire the truck. In the earlier cars I use the holes on the firewall that mounted the original resistor or circuit breaker. I use a piece of 1/2 inch plywood just a little bigger than the fuse panel. I run screws (usually 1/4X20) through the firewall and into the plywood using nutserts. I also have nutserts on the backside of the plywood to mount the panel to the plywood. I cover the plywood with black vinyl so it blends in with the insulator. If for any reason you need to remove the fuse panel it easily unscrews from the plywood. This method will not interfere with the speakers in the kickpanel
