The attached page from the Greenbook shows the 40 Tonner rear bumper. It looks like the front bumper but has a different part# which suggests that it isn't the same as the front bumper. (photo1) Many of these trucks came with no rear bumper and the owner added his own. My Tonner had a 4X10 piece of oak for a bumper. Instead of that setup I used a plain steel bumper and brackets for a 48-50 F-1 from C&G Ford. I added a X member to the bottom of the frame rails to anchor a class "A" hitch carrier which was also bolted to the bumper. (photo 2) Finally I installed a toe plate on top of the bumper to make it easier to get in and out of the bed. It also holds the license plate and the backup light. (photo 3) Another way of dealing with a "missing" bumper.
