1950's Borg Warner overdrive from the back of a transmission transplanted into a torque tube. Flange indicates that it is most likely Model A, possibly 1932 Ford. Total length of the 2 pieces would tell which.
The general type of the overdrive was used by nearly all US car makers at one time or another.
