Default Re: Draft tube / crankcase vent

Notadurus ---Tony, the 8ba is easy to install a pcv valve, remove the breather pipe on the front of the intake, get an 1-1/4 rocker cover grommet that takes a pcv, use a pcv close to the same CI as you engine that will fit in the grommet, I like to get one that has a 90* on the top for the hose, I usually drill a hole in the side of the intake (with it off the engine) tap a thread for a 9* fitting for the hose, you usually only need about 6-8 inch hose and it lays low and hardly notice it. NOW, the 59 engine is a little harder, there is a no. of ways to install one, I'll tell you an easy way, not quite as neat, plug the slot in the breather on the bottom front of the oil pan, (this is easier to do with the pan off) drill a hole in the side of the breather, brass a fitting that the pcv will fit, find a vacuum spot in the intake and run a hose, if you can hide the hose it will work fine.
