Thanks deuce lover, I found the rods, grommets, and knobs on a couple of vendor sites.

Tom, that looks like a very simple solution instead of dealing with crimping and trying to keep the knobs in the right position. Thanks.

The bigger chore now is dealing with the Ford Heater exchanger. I have the Ford accessory type with the unique exhaust manifold, heat exchanger, etc. that uses the radiator fan to move heat through it into the car. Removing the nuts that hold the exchanger to the exhaust manifold will take some determination and patience along with lots of penetrating oil.
