Default Re: muffler selection

I did all my exhaust this vacation. Ran a flexible 2" from manifold to 90º 2" steel bend on the outside of the left frame rail, and into a 2" inlet on a 24" smithy muffler, final pipe runs all the way from there between frame rail and inside rocker panel, just peeking in front of rear left wheel through a 70º bend.
I dislike the sound of the smithy in mid range rev. I have nothing to compare it to but seems too rappy. Deep throaty but still quiet at idle, throaty and a bit loud at full throttle.
Muffler seems well build and a good choice, but id like to try porters or other brands.
After the first test run, I disassembled the whole thing and ran a straight pipe, like a lake pipe but between rail and rocker.
It is waay too loud.
Assembled all again. No issues so far.
Can deliver some pics by the weekend.
Regards
