You are right that originals of the standard are very tough to find. Way back in the 60's when my Dad and I did our refurbish, we could not find any. Fortunately, we found a person at Page's Model A, that carefully built up our old rusting ones with weld and made them usable. I suggest contacting Bert's to see if there are any originals. By the way, I will be making my first visit to Denver this weekend and have reserved Tuesday for walking around Bert's for my first visit.
