As long as the block isn't cracked, it should be good to go. If you can find out what year it is (they messed with the bore size for several years) Allegedly, the '39's and '48's were the two best HV-12's. My '39 LZ has a '40 HV-12 in it, I'd love to find a good '39 HV-12 to swap the '40 out.
