If you have not already, make sure you know where the spark lever should be with the higher compression head. Some guys just start the car and yank the lever all the way forward. Maybe it works for them, but not me. One of my Model A's has the 5.5 head and it runs best about a little less than 2/3 advance. My other Model A has a 6.0 head and about half way advanced on the lever and it runs like a champ. Stock distributor and timing setup, stock zenith carb. YMMV of course......
