Default Practice does make perfect

I have already shared a list of painting tips that I learned the hard way during my quest to refinish the fenders of my 29 tudor.

Now with the first one finally finished one might regard repainting a fender 5 times (bottom side twice and top side 3 times) a monumental waist of material, time, and effort. But I like to think of it as my tuition. With each repetition I have learned more and my skills have improved. I am now sure that I am up to the task of the rest of the job. The moral is, keep at and don't give up, and you will acquire the skills needed.

Safety Disclaimer: In areas of critical safety like steering and brakes trail & error self learning may not be the way to go. Following the instructions (either written or in person) of someone with experience and knowledge is the safer path.
