I have painted right over powder coat as well with great results. But if your looking to back to bare metal sandblasting will take it off.

I was thinking of these type of mounts. But it looks like you need to elongate the holes to the water pump as well. This may make it easier to put the mount in place first, then bolt to engine.

Are you sure you don’t need the U shaped adapters for the mounts?
It’s dark here or I’d go out and get a picture for you, does the engine sit at the correct height?

Interesting test results. I do see the screen having a purpose to prevent the occasional rock from damaging the radiator. Pretty much standard equipment driving up the Alcan.

I thought you could use the MT drums on your exsisting 47 hubs?
Only require new studs, which MT can supply. Old studs will have to have drum swage cut, or drill the studs out.

If you are sizing a cotter pin for a high vibration/movement area like a rod nut, make sure the pin fits tight. If loose it can wear and come apart.

I think you should be able to find the part #’d bearing / shaft assembly listed above. I’ll do some searching on line and see what I can find.

It led between the lip on the door and the lip on the dash, curved side up.

Serial number of coarse would be the first clue, and I believe the 37 to 41 rear differentials are of a different width and I know the wishbones are mounted to the backing plate and not in the center...

Should just unscrew from mounting plate, counterclockwise. But the plate is riveted to the pan.
