Re: Help with transmission selection

Hey....I think that any of us ol' geezers with a Mid-Year car probably have a little too much money and time in these things, but at least you're honest about your concerns. I've had this car for...

JSeery…..You are the ONLY other person on this forum (beside myself) that I've seen use this quick and dirty formula to get you in the ballpark when putting a driveline together. It's not a perfect...

Re: Flathead city, Gary Howard, Grants Pass, Or

Man, after reading that BBB report, this slime needs to be taking his daily showers right there next to ol' Bernie Madoff, with "Bubba" hanging-around to "ass-ist" frequently. DD

Nope, it's Sky King's old Cessna T-50. Below is an old Twin Beech 18 at roughly the same angle. DD

This picture was taken on July 18 of THIS year at a local car show in Gardiner, Maine where Walt has always made his home. Obviously, the coupe in the pic is Walt's famous, and unmistakable '40...

Here's a visual showing SOME of the differences, with the "EARLY" variation being the one on the left. The guys above have given you some good info. You can see that the six clutch bolt holes are...

Re: PU Frame Identification

Lon...If it actually is a pick-up frame, it's most likely that the center and rear-most S/N locations will not have a number stamped. They generally only stamped all three locations on passenger car...

Lon...'36 and '39 frames are very similar. Best way to tell which year is to check-out one of the available lists of serial numbers/year produced. If you can post the serial number of the frame in...

Re: STREET MACHInES, Engines, gearing and etc

It's a 3-speed + O/D out of an '80s Ford pick-up that guys are adapting to Model "A" and V8 Ford torque tubes. The only real gain is synchros and O/D. Gear ratios are similar to stock Model "A"...

Re: STREET MACHInES, Engines, gearing and etc

Ron.....Do you know WHICH T5 you have? There are so many variations with the gear ratios, many of which have a ridiculously low 4.03 1st gear, along with pretty wide spacing between gears. Ideally,...

Re: STREET MACHInES, Engines, gearing and etc

Possibly a LITTLE off topic here, but this is a better reason to consider a 5-speed trans (4gears + O/D) such as a T5 for it's ability to keep the engine operating within the favorable torque band...
