Re: Pumper truck
Typically Fire trucks have had engines rebuilt or replaced several times despite the mileage on vehicle as engine drives the water pump and may have thousands of hours on it.

Re: W&H DuCoil V12 conversion
Ken it seems to me you could use whatever ever points you want. Just have to redrill or make points plate to suit. The coil contact being the small challenge to overcome.

Re: Potvin cams
Ronnieroadster is correct. It’s a cast cam.
1932 Steel cams are flat on the front with just the distributor drive slot. Cast have the circle as you can see on the front of cam pictured.

Re: Potvin cams
Have you measured the lift? I have two originals and neither has .425” lift. I am led to believe none had exactly.425”.
I also have had a master made off one of my originals.

Re: Leaking waterpump 60hp
Personally I wouldn’t use that housing. It’s junk in my opinion. Fortunately it appears to be the square kind. They are still available NOS I have several.

Re: How I did it.
These old fords will start excellent on just a 6volt OPTIMA battery when everything else is correct. Absolutely no need for any 12volt battery. The Optima 6V has 800cca. More than some 12volt...

Re: Leaking waterpump 60hp
It appears that the old impeller has a groove either machined or worn in flat surface of pump housing. This must be absolutely flat all way across. I even polish them on a flat rock with fine wet and...

Re: 1935 21 Stud engine
If the local engine doesn’t work out reach out to me. I have been building flatheads for over 50 years and probably have all the necessary parts to build a close to original 35 engine.

Re: 1935 21 Stud engine
Are you wanting a correct 35 or a36LB engine? How correct? Original had aluminum heads. These are now very hard to find in usable condition.
