If your engine is smoking donít worry about what oil. An overhaul is in order then use Rotella T.

It is not a good idea to use STP or Lucas. The high speed gears will fling it out onto the housing. That’s where it stays effectively reducing the amount of oil in the transmission. Stay with 600W...

What’s the bug deal? I have done several. High speed cutter wheel along the seam. Clean or sand blast and take it to a good welder. Maybe 50 bucks.

The horn rod grounds at the steering wheel. That must be clean and tight. Many horn problems start there.

A starter doesn’t care what voltage you give it. 12V runs faster than 6V. Only damage to a 6V on 12 is to the starter drive. Even that is often caused by a sharp tooth on the flywheel.

Foil covered bubble insulation from Lowes, a can of contact cement, can of spray paint if you donít like the silver color. Works great. The suppliers sell metal plates to go around the steering...
