I used the foil faced (2 sides) with plastic bubble stuff that is sold by Menards with the 3M #90 adhesive they sell, worked good to quiet the car up and provides insulation. Made a big difference...

Also check and clean all of the ground paths, and the supply side to the coil. Actually just clean all your electrical connections. A dirty connection or loose wire can have these type of issues.

Another physical issue can be if you have carpet on the floor it also can keep the peddle from returning all the way as it should and causing the light to stay on.
