Re: What strange comments or questions have you heard about your Model A

I had a car pull up beside me at a stoplight when the young lady inside asked if it was an automatic.

Re: body roll and wallowing

Another site mentioned if the car leans to one side the steering geometry changes so you have to constantly correct or over correct on your steering and the cars wanders around the road. They...

Re: Terriable backfiring

Re: Proper Head Installation

With the continuous heating and cooling of the block, you can get bolts loosening over time. I've been told to retorque the head a few times if the head is re-installed and then it won't hurt to...

Re: 4 blade fan woble

Just be warned, if it wobbles too much it could stress or fatigue the blades. Make sure your fan is still in good condition and running in a balanced fashion. I had one of those four blades on my car...

Re: Here is a bargain! LOL

Nice original condition bug but I doubt anyone will be willing to cover that amount. It does draw in the viewers to the ad though.

Re: Terriable backfiring

Similar to what Curtis has mentioned, I've run into fuel blockages due to rust (either in tank or sediment bowl) and with movement of the vehicle it can stir up the sediment and block the fuel flow....

Re: 4:11 Rear end & No overdrive???

I drive a stock station wagon that was equipped with the 4.11 drive and no modifications to the driveline (no overdrive etc.). It was ok on the hills but the engine was really working under load. I...

Re: Installing a Wiper Blade

Check out the video by richpin at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-8FR51Vh29o
It's a video of a wiper motor rebuild but around 2min 30 seconds he illustrates putting the blade on the arm.

Re: 1931 Cabrolet question

Hey Tom,

I think when I helped Dan lower his roof one time the roof also has two solid sections that butt up to the window frame of the door. The roof seals alot tighter than the roadster...

Re: Strange Noise - Need Help to ID

Could it be a loose hubcap rattling about? Would be nice if it's just a little play in one of those.

Re: Strange Noise - Need Help to ID

If you have a stone guard in place, they sometimes build up a vibration that will rattle a bit and gets amplified through the front sheet metal. (Same idea as the splash pans)
Is your horn cover...

Re: Import tax

One problem I see is that the parts that can be made cheaper (due to labour costs or costs of raw materials) will still be sought out by a majority of the buyers. This may not encourage them to buy...

Re: Death wobble?

Don't forget, low tire pressure or incorrect toe-in can also add to the equation and amplify the severity of a front end shimmy.

Re: Lost Neutral

I've seen transmission towers put back on without the proper positioning of the shift forks so it more or less locked the transmission in a gear. Maybe one of the forks broke and it's staying in one...

Re: Recommendations For Selling

Nice car! It will be easier to sell if the engine is in running condition and you'll probably get a better purchase price too. As long as the engine doesn't need major overhauling/expense and it just...

Re: Millennials decided on an "A"

Station wagons are good for multiple passengers but the downside to them can be if you don't have the side curtains, you do have more weather exposure than a closed car. Much the same as the coupe or...

Re: Shifter fork alignment

Bear in mind, if the tower is replaced on the transmission in haste, sometimes the forks don't engage the gears in the proper slots and can be bent slightly when trying to test the installation.

Re: Front/rear brake bias

I'm not sure about why the cars were setup with more braking at the back but I've often thought about possible reasons it may have been setup that way. I've seen some cars that locked up the front...

Re: Car cuts off for unknown reason

I've had mine cut out before because the ignition switch moved slightly with the weight from the keychain. It's not an original switch so it may not be the same as your issue. It does sound like you...

Re: Wishbone too long

Also, if the front axle is not set at the correct caster angle that could also add some dimension to where the radius ball lines up with the bell housing.
