I do not think having 2 different chamber volumes is ever correct . It’ll work but not correct. Especially when rebuilding a motor and you have a chance to correct it .

Check the amps required to run an electrical vacuum pump . I would just run the engine vacuum with a extra holding tank. Easier and probably cheaper . Just my opinion.

If the runout is less than a few thousandths I would thik the lash would not care and the lobe is going to lift the valve off the seat . Just my opinion

Are there multiple ports ? The distributor uses a unique vacuum source . If you’re not familiar with the load-matic ( ?) distributor, read up on it . But you did mention that it was running this way...
