I had the same trouble with my '36 spare cover. Try pushing in slightly before turning. It worked for me !

Just remember to place an "Agreed Value" in dollars between you and the insurer somewhere in your policy...makes life lots easier when there's a total loss...This coming from experience.

I own my '36 Ford Sedan for 35 years. My folks brought me home from the hospital in it as a newborn in 1945 !

My '36 Ford Sedan has the trim. The drivers side clips that hold it have rusted beyond repair. Does anyone know where to get the trim clips ?

I should have mentioned that I did send the whole distributor in 3 years ago to "Babba" for all new condensor/coil/points/rotor etc. The problem stems from the storage conditions here in N.W....

I took T.M.'s advice and fashioned some clips out of some thin aluminum. I thot I would never be able to achieve the end result...but after about and hour and 45 mins I ended up with some great...

The small clips that hold the chrome ring to the spare tire cover are useless or gone. It looks like there is a total of 9 slots to fill. Does anyone have a source for these ?....same for the clips...

We have a 1936 Ford Sedan, 95% original with only some glass and all new wiring and water pumps O/H. It's been in the family since 1938 and
has waaaay more sitting time than driving time. It's lucky...

I had the same problem with my '36 Ford Sedan last year. I located a fello in Missouri who had a few blank Hurd keys. The nice thing is that he had the punch numbers for the ignitions and tire...

.... just another 2 cents worth...as you are going thru your trial and error and process of elimination etc.....just remember to disconnet or toggle to "off" with your power source, cuz if the points...

Digger.....I had a carbon copy problem with my ignition key on my '36.

For years we drove it w/o locking the ignition. I ended up using W-D

on the key way and used a very small (right angle)...

I hate to skid everybody's rig on this one but My Dad bought his '36 Fordor in 1938. He brought both me and my brother home in it from the hospital in '40 and '45. He signed it over to me in 1966...

Got my water pumps done and rebuild distributor on my '36 last year....It doesn't get any better than Skip !!!!
