Lightbulb Re: FE set in stone.

That is odd and I have never really thought about it.

Post Re: New baby 1953 Merc

LINC-MERC used basically the same PN SYSTEM during this period as FORD. Some BASIC PN's were the same as FORD, some were unique to the LM car lines. FORD began the P&A SYSTEM in 1959 and LM was...

I'm having a little difficulty with this thread, so please bear with me ...

Thumbs up Re: engine degreasing/fuel pump Q

There is a good idea. MD EPA put a stop to that. Here in W(BY GOD) V, I was talking with a manager and he said auto recyclers would come in and drop the fuel and lubricants into the drain. A camera...

Post Re: engine degreasing/fuel pump Q

Well, GUNK used to be the go-to but it has kerosene and stinks. Hard to hide. You will need either steam or a pressure washer.

Do you have a hoist? Possibly suspend the engine with the pool below...

Post Re: Highway speed vibration ('57 Thunderbird)

While you have it on stands, look for COUNTRY OF ORIGIN on the sidewalls.

If a man sectioned the AT out of a BIRD to rebuild it and did not replace the rear bushing as a matter-of-fact, it is hard...

Post Re: engine degreasing/fuel pump Q

Is the engine going back into the car or is it going to be rebuilt?

Fuel Pump Kit - http://www.classicpreservation.com/fuelpumpkits.html

Don't let the present pump go to the rebuild barrel.

THANX for that. I guess what I really need to know is if the power-train is original? Is it a flatty and AT?

For some reason I had 56 MERC caught in my mind. Don't order the filter kit yet.
