If I recall correctly, the front to back baffles were added for 1930/1931. 1928/1929 only had side to side baffles. Brent Terry posted some really interesting gas tank pictures a couple of months...

This works well for me. You can use it to take the temperature of the radiator (top, middle, bottom), water neck that goes to the radiator, engine head (front, middle, back), sides of the engine, oil...
