I have a Holley 4000 carburetor in my '56 Thunderbird. I cannot see what the hot idle speed adjustment screw pushes against to raise and lower idle speed. Here is a picture of my screw. Am I missing...

I solved my leakage problem by using the gasket that comes with the filter for the original canister type. It is much more substantial.

I discovered why I couldn't see the clip ring. Turns out there wasn't one. Some time in the past someone must have taken it apart and never put it back.
I now have the seals out.
