Not all thermostats will open in a boiling pan of water 212 degrees at sea level. I’ve found them with bad springs and stuck valves thus keeping them from opening.

Both of the tested started...

Finally found the issue, what I have are for 49-53 V8. These was sold to me as being for 37-48.

Iím think the same, the area outside the defined ring is all that would need to be removed.

I think Iíll use my old thermostats, they open as the should when tested in a pan of boiling water.

They actually over hang a 1/8Ē. They are 1/4Ē larger in diameter than what I removed

All I can find on them is Dole Valve Co 180 degree

Looks like Iíve got a pair of $30.00 paper weights :D

My original t stats tested as good.

Anyone have any information as to application for the one in the first photo. I plan to sell them but would like to know what they actually fit.

I purchased these thermostats under the impression that they was for a 40 Ford. They will not fit inside the hoses and hang over the castings of the outlet of the head. Any idea what year they...

Thank you, appreciate the help. I forgot to take a picture when I removed the yoke thinking I would remember the sequence of how it came apart. CRS has kicked in 👍

Where the yoke sets on the front crossmember does the spring for the mounting bolt go on top of the yoke or on the bottom side of the crossmember.

I have a what I believe is a 1934 V8 Distributor and Coil that I received in a box of items I traded for. Spins freely not seized up. If Iím wrong on year please correct me. Neither has been tested...

Thanks for the help, figured they shouldnít be to tight as the rubber would distort and cause them to possibly split.

Iíve search but havenít found the torque value for the front and rear engine mount bolts. Is there actually a torque spec or just snug and install cotter pin.
