Re: gas question

Yes......I use STABIL when I put E-10 in my "collector" cars. Mainly due to the short "shelf life" of E-10 in my area. It separates out after a month or so......turns "pee-yellow", but still burns...

Re: STP/gear lub

Re: STP/gear lub

Lots of anecdotal stories, but no scientific facts......yet......maybe a chemist who knows about lubrication will chime in to clear this up.

BTW......I used STP in a Ford 312 engine for over...

Re: Master cylinder

I used a Mustang BOSS mc with 15/16" bore on my '40 with MAGNUM disc front brakes. The mc cover hit the floorboard so I sectioned it about 5/16" to clear. Works very well, but I suggest you look...

My '40 coupe was painted in 1980 with DuPont lacquer and still looks great......no cracks or crazing......have never had to use any abrasives on it since the original buffing. I have used Maquiars...

Re: exhaust manifold coating

I had Jet Hot coat my headers about 25 years ago......lots of miles since and they still look as good as when they were coated. Also.....easy to keep clean. But they were pricey to have done.

Re: 110 compression/gas in oil

Usually, gas in the oil sump is caused by a leaking carburetor. Check the fuel bowl in the carb after it has been running......wait a few hours to see if it is leaking down. You should not run the...

Re: Starting/Carburetor

Something else to consider.......the fuel in the tank (from California?) could be old. That means the ethanol has separated to give you water on the bottom of the tank. You might try taking some...

Re: Steering wheel wobble

Ditto what Walt said...... A steering system damper should not be needed if all the parts are tight.....it's a band aide at best. Worn parts are dangerous and should be replaced. Remember.....Ford...

Re: rebuild kits Q...

I tied to find ethanol friendly rebuild parts for my Stewart Warner electric pump without any success......plenty of "original" parts available, but those will fail again with ethanol laced gas.
