Re: Model A Ford Fender Debate

That is pretty much the same reason why Fred Morse (https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/member.php?u=699) was banned before, ...and why he just re-registered under the new FM username.

Re: Buyer Beware...Emergency Brake Linings...Where is the Quality Control?

Thanks Dan & Steve. I definitely see Steve's side of it as he is wanting to restore accurately, -and when you are spending hard-earned money, your goal is to have the best ...but in all true...

Re: Buyer Beware...Emergency Brake Linings...Where is the Quality Control?

Steve, this is not going to be a popular response to your (-and to other similar posts) comments regarding Q/C but it often boils down to profitability for the supplier. Most 'Restorers' today don't...

Re: How Many Model A Owners also Own a T?

I own five Ts too. I own two or three As. I work on A's for a living so that I have money to play with Ts. :D Actually, my family just prefers national T events over A events. FWIW, it was...

Re: Brake Service Cross Shaft Reviews

Yes, most 'rebuilt' units I have seen do not have the holes in the 3 levers restored back to 0.376 to fit an original size pin. Kinda seems dumb to buy new brake rods and drill them for an oversized...

Re: mocdern car refinishing products

Personally I would start by going to your local paint supplier and find which paint lines he carries. I would try to use either PPG or Axalta brands. The tech data sheets these manufacturers have is...

Re: rust in tank

I have factory prints for all US tanks. All the prints I have seen in the assembly drawings show baffles.

Re: LeBaron Bonney vs Cartouche

Why not Dave? Since Cartouche is now the manufacturer of most Model-A fabric, what is it about Cartouche? Granted their kits are not 100% authentic, ...but neither is Mike's.

Re: 1930 Deluxe Coupe Windlace

I am going to the shop to drop off something before I leave for a tour. If I get an extra moment, I have some pictures there on that computer and will post a picture of what original windlace looked...

Not even remotely close to original pattern.

Au-Ve-Co

Their 11406 is the closest to original however I have found you need to replicate the T slot like original for those to work the best. The ones I listed above work fine.

Terry Deters would be a good choice. Also, in about a month is Model-A Day at the Gilmore Museum (https://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/event-detail/ford-model-a-day/) where you can meet up with...

Thank you, -and it's not just me, but we have about a 1 year waiting list right now (i.e.: 6-7 car owners waiting). Also, engine shops (-=at least good ones) are backed up too. A thread on...

Re: LED Headlights

I guess this one is one I'm still having an 'understanding issue'. I liken this to someone who is using a rifle at target practice telling someone you can't accurately hit the target with a machine...

Re: fly wheel filling

Don't bother filling the hole. If I were balancing the flywheel, the machine will pick-up on the 'light-side balance' of the flywheel and I would drill on the opposite side 180 to compensate.

Re: Restoration

http://www.model-a-ford.com/ROFL.gif No worries as you likely are not stepping on anyone's toes. Most resto shop owners I chat with have a large backlog of work on their waiting list.

Re: Roy Nacewicz

I had spoke with Mike early on and he told me that he was going to try to make the purchase from Marlana. I am super happy as he is a great guy and will continue the business end well.

Re: Upholstery Clips - Need Advice

Bob, there are different sizes of those clips. I'll try to remember to look at the part number for the ones we use tomorrow.
