Re: Engine wont start.

Please don't start changing parts. If it ran before, just clean the points and make sure the gas is good.

Re: front wedge

No grease and it should not have a step in it. It should move freely.

Re: My Distributor Cam Screw is Stuck

Take the distributor out so you can hold the shaft tight. You won’t hurt anything.

Re: Heater to firewall

On the connection from the manifold heater to the body, I used a strip of that silicone grilling sheet that you use on the BBQ. It is flexible and seems to work well. Here is a very short video of...

Try to start it with the throttle fully opened to flush out the excess fuel. If you get a fire, back off on the gas. Join a club.

Re: Car fails to acheave high speed

While it is idling, see if you can close the throttle with your finger pushing it a bit. If you can, simply add a redundant throttle return spring to the lever. We all should have a redundant...

Make sure the two mating flanges at the carb and manifold connection are flat. Put a file on them to make sure. You will see the warp. Clean it up.

Back off the adjustment and run the horn motor for about 15 sec. That will loosen things us and let the motor run at full speed. It never gets to run very long and a little spinning helps. Then...

Re: 1930 Model A Gears Grind After New Clutch Install

Re: Model A only runs 40 miles

Check to make sure the ferrule is at the very end of the gas line going into the carb. If it hits the screen, it can restrict flow. It should not matter on a tilliston, but easy to check.

Re: ModelA Times

If you do use the electronic system, only you can fix it and supply the parts when on tour with other A’s. They can’t help you in most cases.

Re: horn blows while driving

If everything looks good, it might be that the tip of the horn rod is grounding against some metal. I have fixed a few using a large soda straw, plastic. Cut a small piece and slip it over the end...

Re: Slight high speed miss

Check ferrule at end of fuel line. Must right at end of tube. Tube hits screen and restricts flow.
