Re: Is this Washington Blue?

Which paint brands/lines did you use for these cars? Are they custom-mixed colors or a standard from the catalogs? If the latter, do you have the color codes?

Re: The Ford Books Fastener Guide

I've thought a black zinc flake plating would be well suited for old Ford fasteners. It has superior corrosion resistance to black oxide while being more "black" than a standard zinc with a black...

Re: Ebay sales tax in place

People just like to bitch and moan. Particularly when they're ignorant of the reason or situation.

No.

eBay, who then remits payment to the requisite state.

Re: new to this era. Questions about phaetons or sedan convertibles?

1928-34 open cab (roadster) pickup. Just toss the kids in the bed. They'll dry out if they get wet.

Re: 1933 34 colors

This is a correct statement. One cannot trust photos on a computer screen to accurately represent the actual color. There are too many variables; camera calibration, monitor calibration, photo...

Re: Don Orasco Selling Out Question?

I'd be curious as to what this person actually purchased. For $10k I doubt it was anything particularly rare or valuable. I'm sure Don has enough contacts in SoCal that would have quickly cleaned...

Re: What Car Skates work best?

I have had a set of the cheap HF self-jacking style mentioned above under a '82 Chevy C10 truck for the past year. They work fine and I'm able to push it around by myself. That said, my garage...

Re: 32 Roadster pick up

Given the length of the panel behind the door, my guess is that it's a crudely modified and repaired Ute.

Re: Michigan classic car laws help ?

Not across the board.

Even a standard 1941 Ford Fordor would have only had a single tail light from the factory.

Re: Bring a Trailer

I can't remember the last time I saw a paper copy of Hemmings.

They really screw their classifieds advertisers by limiting what non-subscribers are able to see in the search results for the online...

Re: Metric Piston Rings?

You can purchase inch-sized rings made with the same materials and coatings as metric-sized rings. There isn't anything special about the latter.

Re: The Highwaymen Movie

Does it really matter if it was the cowl instead of the hood? The point is he's standing on the car.

Re: Flathead - Has anyone "split" the center exhaust port?

Why are you using a flathead if the car you want to replicate has an OHV engine?

Re: Oldest daily driver... with highway speeds

70 mph on the freeway with a load? The '32 would be a no-go. The '48 might be doable, but I'd consider it iffy.

Get yourself another 1960's Y-block (or later) truck.

What if the gauge...
