Re: 1959 F100 motor mount
Here is why the frame was so weak. When the prior owner modified the front cross member it created BIG problems with the strength of the frame. So big that I will not try to drive it without some...

Re: Trailer
This is the way I tie down, with crossed straps. It secures the load side to side and front/back. It isn't going anywhere. Straight straps parallel with the trailer sides will let a bouncing car...

Re: Trailer
The 15x8 should be fine. Most Model A's are about 14' long. The biggest problem I have had with car trailers is with the ramps and the angle they take down from the back of the trailer. Some of...

Re: Frame serial number to obtain a title?
I think you should look for another Model A that is already registered in New Jersey. Find what you really want. The project you are thinking of is BIG and there is a BIG chance of never finishing...

Re: Trailering tips for protection
Get the top shroud from a semi truck cab and put it on the front of the car trailer. Bolt it to the floor. This will give a lot of protection to whatever you are hauling. They can be found cheap...

Re: 1959 F100 motor mount
I think that boxing the frame will almost be necessary to use that cross member kit. The ends are designed to bolt to the side of the frame. I won't be surprised if I also have to modify the lower...

I have the 302, it is from a 73 F100, it runs nice.
Ford, Ford, Ford.... $ $ $ :)
I have learned a lot about this truck in the last few days. Now I know why the frame twisted...

Re: 1959 F100 motor mount
The guy who swapped the engine made up mounts from flat stock and boxed in one side of the mounts. When the motor was revved the torque of the motor made the block twist, which made the mounts raise...

Re: 1959 F100 motor mount
Thanks. Just looking at the front mount and the bolt pattern on the 302 cam cover it looked like there might be a chance it would match up.
I was also wondering if the mounts in the Speedway link...

1959 F100 motor mount
I acquired a 1959 Ford F100 pickup without engine or transmission. I am putting in a Ford 302V8 with C6 transmission. Will the 1959 stock motor mount plate mate up to the front of the 302V8 engine?

Re: Trailering tips for protection
You can get a roll of industrial heat shrink film for about $200 that will do at least six cars. That will keep junk off your car for several trips or you can share it with other guys in your club. ...

This is for recreational highway and town...

Re: Sticking windows
Thanks for the ideas. A couple of things come to mind. First, the windows were very hard to crank up when I got the car but they loosened up a bit with use, but not well enough.
I had the glass...

1969 F100 stepside box on 1959 F100 frame?
I have a 1959 F100 Styleside pickup and have found a 1969 F100 Stepside pickup box. Will the 1969 box fit on the 1959 frame?
Is the tread distance the same? Any other problems with this switch?

Re: Bat piss
I had bats that crawled up behind the corrugated steel siding on a shed. I could hear them scratching on the steel. Some old gas in a hand spray jug got rid of them. All I had to do was squirt it...

Re: Anyone else use rims for blocks?
I think the way Katy uses them with a 14" rim set inside a 15" rim is a lot safer than the junkyard method of putting one upright inside another. With Katy's method they are not likely to shift or...
