Re: Valves

Re: 32 B4 rear seal missing

For a good reproduction of the original: Snyder's has them in their offerings: Rear main oil seal B-6335

Another option that I most often use on a B block is the Small Block Chevy (SBC) rear...

Re: FS ignition timing

I run my Lion Speed Head, milled .074", at 24 degrees advance and still need to be careful when climbing hills to avoid lugging and the resulting pinging. Downshifting to raise the rpm solves the...

Re: Hot Driver

I installed a Ken Davis unit in my '31 Slant Windshield. I am well satisfied with the way it works. I only notice a drop in engine RPM at idle. It was not difficult to install.
Good Day!

Re: What do I need to do to get a reliable engine?

I build Model A and B engines up in MINNESOTA but I know some of the good builders across the US. As mentioned in an earlier post, Ron Kelly builds a very good engine and he is near you. Ron will...

Re: 6V versus 12V (stupid ques. I'm a newbie)

Unless you have a compelling reason to change, I suggest staying with 6 volt positive ground. Most technical articles for the maintenance of the Model A assume the car is wired as original (6 volt)...

Re: Air conditioning in a open car

I have a Phaeton and a '31 S/W with the air conditioner alexiskai describes. Based on the output of the unit I have, the blast of cool air from the AC unit would help you to feel cooler if installed...

Re: Insert con rod suggestions

I have had good service from Antique Engine Rebuilding (AER) inserted rods on many engines. Mostly mild but a few hot A's and B's were built and are providing good service with these AER rods.

Re: T-5 5 speed trans VS Mitchell overdrive

Soild cam plunger stop: The high capacity oil pump, a tight oil pump drive gear, fuel pump, varying lifter loads or a tight distributor can all cause the cam to move forward. The solid stop is a...

Re: T-5 5 speed trans VS Mitchell overdrive

Sorry Ken. I made the same AC mistake once before when I replied to one of your posts. I took the AC reference out of my previous post. Thanks for correcting me.

Re: T-5 5 speed trans VS Mitchell overdrive

Ken, You ask how to produce 80 HP without an overhead valve head. 80 HP is my goal for a touring car I am building up. I am currently dyno breaking in a B block that has full oil pressure and is...

If you can devote a full day to it, the Skyline Drive is about 120 miles from you. The drive is awesome with great views. The full drive is a bit over 100 miles.
