Re: Is it a bad time to sell?

I guess I’m having trouble understanding where a lot of you are coming from. If there is something on a car that I don’t like I remove it. All the crap that you think I should remove came with the...

Re: tell a Model A related story

When I first started driving, my model A’s were not real weather-proof. You didn’t want to hit a big pot-hole or you’d blow a tire, and if that pot-hole was full of water, you got wet. I got so used...

Re: Is it a bad time to sell?

To all of you who haven’t knocked or belittled my car, Thank you very much.

If I would have verbally knocked and pointed out all the defects to the owners of cars I’ve bought in the past, I’m sure...

Re: tell a Model A related story

Hi there, I enjoyed your story. I’ve always thought that cropdusting would be a real hoot, and I’ve never talked with someone who did it as a profession.

I grew up in Oregon in the Pacific...

Re: Is it a bad time to sell?

I guess I could pull up the front seat to expose the Robertson screws and take a picture, but is that even important? I really don’t know if it is or not. After all the trouble I went through to get...

Re: Has this ever happened to you?

So many marriages are breaking up, and it’s almost impossible fo me to imagine a man re-marrying someone who didn’t approve of or at least respect his love of A’s.

One of the hardest times of my...

Re: Is it a bad time to sell?

When I first advertised on MAFCA, I ended up running into the most persistent scammer ever. MAFCA strenuously warns about scammers and I’m glad it does because this guy or gal took up hours and hours...

Is it a bad time to sell?

After installing a new Randy Gross F100 steering box, aligning the front-end, and getting my ’29 cabriolet running and driving perfectly, I put it up for sale again. I originally asked $16,500, but...

Re: Bad influence???

One thing I’ve learned about using the forum on the Ford Barn. I come across as being a lot smarter than I do when I speak. Hell, it takes a lot of time and effort to type out expletives, and yet...

Re: Engine running like crap

Keith, I just bough some brand-new grit for my Harbor Freight compressed air spark plug cleaner, so I’ve just got to try the thing out. I bought that cleaner when Harbor Freught first opened in...

Re: Engine running like crap

Oh the longish spring is there, but the preious owner had dual carbs on the car when I bought it. So, that control rod is longer than it should be for a single carb.
It was set up to go to the front...

Re: Bad influence???

I sure don’t care how you spell. Hell, as long as you get your point across, no one else should either. This is a model A forum not a spelling bee. As long as you can spell yep and nope, you’re doing...

Engine running like crap

I’ve been driving the ’29 without any problem, but the day before yesterday it started but sounded like it was running on two cylinders. I checked everything from spark plugs wires to coil connection...

Re: NOS parts I will never use but keep .

Hey, am I wrong or has no one mentioned manuals? I have manuals going back a long ways, and each of them came with or was bought for a car or motorcyle I owned. I have shelves and shelves of the...

Re: NOS parts I will never use but keep .

John, I still have parts and tools that came with my first model A back in 1957. I love it when I come across one of them. For a moment, I’m transported back to that time when I was first learning...

Re: I bought my first coupe today - in Brooklyn!

Carl, find yourself a great big vacant parking lot like one at Walmart or any big store. Take your A out there and just drive it forward, backwards, but not upside-down. Drive it until you are tired...

Re: I bought my first coupe today - in Brooklyn!

Carl, congratulations. Just remember: clutch in and shift into a gear, clutch out and drive. Clutch in and shift out of gear into neutral. Clutch out, then clutch back in and shift into another gear....

Re: what category

Boy, do I wish that Shay made a tudor. They didn't, but I think they would have been popular.

Mike

P.S. I don't think Shay liked roll-up windows.

Re: easy front-end alignment

Dino, get in your car and turn the steering wheel all the way to the right. Now turn it all the way to the left. However many turns it took to go from side to side divide by two. Turn that wheel back...

easy front-end alignment

I recently talked to Bill Williamson in Fresno, California, and he told me how to align my front tires. It’s probably the simplest way to do something that seems to have so many people confused that...

Re: Looking to buy a 31 - advice needed

Carl, lots of questions. Where has the ’31 been stored? Does it have coolant in it? Is it water or anti-freeze. I think you know where I’m going with this. If there is any way to check that engine...
