Re: Valve Assembly Fail
Congratulations on finding the source of the noise. It looks like your engine may have the split valve guides, if so, make sure both halves of the guides are lined up before installing the retaining...

Re: New Car- New Member- LOTS of questions!
Welcome, that is a very nice looking car and it sounds like you have may quite a lot of progress on it already. There are some old discussions on here about the woodgrain on the 33 and 34 model cars...

I was thinking...

Re: Stray Voltage?
My guess is that you are picking up interference from the high voltage ignition circuit. My other guess is that you left the flux capacitor energized and you will end up back in 1952 if you exceed...

I recently watched a couple of Youtube videos about some inexpensive TIG/stick welders that looked interesting. I will look for them and post a link if I find them again.

Re: How to compute HP
I agree, JWL's book is the best guide to how much horsepower can be expected from a set of hardware on the flathead engine.
The horsepower of an engine is calculated as follows:
HP=(T x N)/5252...

Re: Electrical questions from an Idiot
Kube has stated in the past that he adds a ground wire to the button and connects to an inconspicuous place behind dash to improve the ground connection between the button and the dash.

Re: 1952 8Ba flathead wot stay running
Congratulations on getting the engine running. If you are still having fuel leaking from the carburetor gasket above the float chamber, there must be a defect in the gasket, but the fuel shouldn't...
